Work in the Community

York Bird of Prey Centre can often be found out & about in the local community.

The basic ethos behind the Centre is "Conservation & Education".

The Centre carries out its own carefully managed breeding programs, doing its part to conserve otherwise endangered species.

Staff also carry out visits, particularly to schools, where children get the opportunity to experience first-hand how magnificent these creatures are, as well as having an opportrunity to handle them, thus giving them a deeper understanding and respect for birds of prey.

It's not unusual to find one of our birds delivering the rings at a wedding ceremony and the Centre has also been invited to attend Galas, Fétes and Corporate Events.
